Design Challenge : Design a responsive website for a company that allows users to donate or search for a match for organ transplantation

Project Overview :Cura is a comprehensive platform designed to connect organ donors and recipients through a secure, user-friendly website and mobile app. This platform aims to streamline the organ donation process, provide essential information and support, and facilitate seamless communication between all parties involved.

Target Audience :

Primary:

1. Potential Organ Donors: Adults seeking to register and contribute to organ donation.

2. Organ Recipients: Individuals needing transplants, looking for efficient matching and secure communication.

3. Healthcare Providers: Medical professionals needing quick access to records and effective matching tools.

1. Family Members: Relatives seeking updates and support.

2. Support Coordinators: Workers needing group management tools and resources.

3. Healthcare Administrators: Officials needing data insights and streamlined processes.

Key Insights:

Cura stands out in the Indian market with its modern, user-friendly interface and advanced technology, including secure EHR integration and real-time health record updates. Unlike competitors such as NOTTO, MOHAN Foundation, Organ India, and ROTTO-SOTTO, which have traditional interfaces and limited tech capabilities, Cura offers comprehensive support services and extensive educational resources. While Cura faces challenges as a new entrant with the need to build trust and recognition, it has significant opportunities to collaborate with established organizations, attract tech-savvy users, and expand its digital marketing efforts. Overall, Cura’s innovative approach positions it as a promising leader in the organ donation and recipient matching space.

Problem Statement: 

Despite the critical need for organ transplants and the increasing number of individuals willing to donate, there is a significant gap in the accessibility, transparency, and efficiency of the organ donation process. Current systems often present challenges such as complex registration procedures, lack of clear information on donation processes, and inadequate communication between donors, recipients, and medical professionals. These issues result in delays, reduced trust, and missed opportunities for saving lives.

Key insights : 

- Logged-In Users : Access to a dashboard, notifications, profile, organ search, pledging, educational resources, and support groups.

- Not Logged-In Users : Access to donor and recipient sections, a Hall of Fame, support groups, and options to log in or get started.

- Common Elements: Both experiences include links to Home, About Us, blogs/news, privacy policy, contact information, social links, and support in the header and footer. The design focuses on personalized content and functionalities based on user status.

Conclusion:

​

User-Centered Design: The UX design of Cura prioritizes the needs and experiences of both donors and recipients. Extensive user research highlighted the importance of simplicity and clarity in the registration and navigation processes.

Emphasis on Anonymity and Privacy: Ensuring the anonymity and privacy of donors and recipients is a critical feature. The design incorporates unique identification numbers (UINs) and secure communication channels to maintain confidentiality and build user trust.
